Many times. It's ok though. For the sake of not spaming this topic, I'd polietly suggest commenting on the fanfiction that's posted. Just courtesy, really. And yes, Springsteen rocks. ~Vetchnondisclosed_email@example.com (Vetch)Mon, 22 Jan 2007 19:16:35 +0000 Re: Fic instead of sleephttps://bucwebcomic.runboard.com/p165502,from=rss#post165502https://bucwebcomic.runboard.com/p165502,from=rss#post165502*pokes Vetch* Have I mentioned yet that I love your tag thing? I keep reading it and squeeing inside ('cuz Springsteenlove!) and then deciding not to comment 'cuz I figure I must have by now... and then I got paranoid and decided to check. So yeah, Born to Run for the win!nondisclosed_email@example.com (LittlestYo)Mon, 22 Jan 2007 09:02:13 +0000 Re: Fic instead of sleephttps://bucwebcomic.runboard.com/p165501,from=rss#post165501https://bucwebcomic.runboard.com/p165501,from=rss#post165501You rock at writing. I like this alot. You've really written both characters well, and I like the way the story flows. You did a good job. I hope it has a follow up, or at least that we see more of your writing around here. ~Vetchnondisclosed_email@example.com (Vetch)Sun, 21 Jan 2007 20:13:11 +0000 Fic instead of sleephttps://bucwebcomic.runboard.com/p165383,from=rss#post165383https://bucwebcomic.runboard.com/p165383,from=rss#post165383Just a quick bit of fluff that may or may not ever have follow-up. It has no title. ----------------- "You like them both, don't you," Kelsi stated with entirely too much confidence, stuffing another bite of taco into her mouth and chewing noisily. Nicodemus watched her feet kick at the dry dirt beneath the bench. "Of course I do. Aside from this whole solidarity-against-the-forces-of-hell thing, they've been my friends for a long time." "That's not the kind of 'like' I meant." He stilled instantly, eyes staring suddenly harder at her feet. He fussed with the cuffs of his coat and tried to think of a response that used something resembling words and the English language. He finally settled for an unconvincing "What makes you say that?" His gaze slid away from her feet and off into the distance. "Reading people isn't rocket science," she said, crumpling the taco wrapper into a greasy little ball and dropping it on the bench between them. "Even when 'people' means 'you'." He thought about asking if she intended to tell them. Decided it was silly and heaved an eloquent sigh instead. "It doesn't matter." His tone was light but resigned. "Neither of them is interested, and the last thing any of us needs is more complication in our lives." "Then why are you still waiting on them?" "I'm not waiting on them. On either of them." He didn't have to turn his head to feel the look she shot at him. "Okay, I might be waiting on them. But... not on purpose. I know nothing will ever come of it." "Certainly not if you refuse to say anything to either of them." "I can't tell them." His eyes stayed stubbornly locked on the horizon and its scattered trees. "Why not?" "Because I don't want any more of their pity than I already have. Naim... I think Naim already knows. But Ikku doesn't, and I plan to keep it that way." A moment of silence settled between them, and it wasn't the comfortable sort. An unexpected gust of wind knocked the wrapper to the ground, and both turned to watch it fall. "If you ever..." she began, trailing uncertainly off. He glanced up to see her face had gone just a little bit pink. "If you ever decide to stop waiting..." she tried again, again trailing off. He was less surprised than he probably should have been when she gave up on verbally articulating her point and instead leaned in to kiss him quickly on the cheek. She gave him a small self-conscious smile as she stood, then stooped to pick up the fallen wrapper and walked away. Nicodemus had a feeling he was probably supposed to say something here, but he had no idea what. He had meant it when he said they didn't need more complications in their lives. But assuming they were all still alive by the end of the week, he could figure it out later. END -----------------nondisclosed_email@example.com (somethingrandom)Sat, 16 Dec 2006 00:15:49 +0000
